i)

ADMISSION

Admission is restricted by certain policies of the Management and by conditions of age, ability and conduct.

At the time of admission the student should be personally introduced by the parent/guardian who will be responsible to the school authorities for his/her studies and conduct.

ii)

WITHDRAWAL

No school leaving certificate will be issued unless applied for in writing after all the dues have been cleared

iii)

DISMISSAL

Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or defiance of authority, malpractice in connection with examinations, lack of sufficient improvement in conduct and studies even after warnings or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.

A student who fails more than once in the same class shall be removed from the rolls.

iv)

ATTENDANCE

No student shall be absent from class without sufficient reason. Parents/Guardians must clearly state the reason for the absence in the Leave Record of the School Diary.

Students are not allowed to go out of the campus during school hours, including recess time.

Those who absent themselves without prior permission shall not enter the class without the Principal's permission. Unauthorized absence for more than 15 days will lead to removal from the rolls.

Students suffering from contagious diseases will not be permitted to attend school. In case of serious illness the Principal must be informed within 5 days and a Doctor's certificate submitted.

Students of classes IX, X and XII will have special classes during the month of May. Attendance is compulsory.

DISCIPLINE

Discipline is an integral part of the learning process. To develop self-control a student must be trained to bridle emotions and impulses, to live in harmony with others, to respect family traditions, to keep the laws of the country and to obey the commandments of God.

All students shall be in the school premises a few minutes before the morning bell and take part in the solemn morning assembly in an orderly and respectful manner.

In the afternoon students should be in their classrooms at the first bell and maintain silence. Classes will commence at the second bell.

No behaviour affecting the discipline of the school will be permitted. Students shall keep silence and decorum in the class rooms and corridors. They shall not leave their class rooms or enter any other class room without permission.

Speaking in English is compulsory at the school, in school bus and while waiting at the bus-stop to board the bus.

The school premises and class rooms must be kept clean and tidy.

Any damage caused to the property of the school or of the other students must be reported to the Principle and will have to be compensated.

Students shall be responsible for the safe custody of their belongings. It is suggested that their names be inscribed on ­articles like lunch boxes, school bags and umbrellas. Lost articles deposited in the school office must be claimed within a month.

It is not necessary for students to bring sweets to school on their birthday, if they want to do so they must bring sweets without plastic wrappers.

Every student shall endeavour to keep up the high standard of the school by excelling in studies, good manners and deportment. Politeness and courtesy in speech and conduct as well as cleanliness and grace of person are to be cherished.

Students are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in school but also for their general behaviour outside.

It is not advisable for students to have too much money or expensive articles in their possession. The school will not be responsible for the loss of such articles.

No meetings, parties or organized school activities should be arranged without the approval of the Principal. All collections must be made through the office.

Mobile phones will not be permitted for the student on the campus. If found in possession will be confiscated. Students are not allowed to bring CDs to School.

No vehicles will be allowed to enter the school compound during school hours.

All students are sincerely exhorted to cultivate the habit of morning and evening prayer. Catholic students are specially advised to assist regularly at Holy Mass and frequent the sacraments and thus be witnesses to Christ in their daily lives. Catholic parents would do well to encourage their children in this matter.

PARENTAL CO-OPERATION

The active co-operation of parents with the school is an essential pre-requisite for the welfare of the students. Parents can help by enforcing regularity and discipline. They should supervise their child's daily lessons, see that they put in adequate hours of study at home and complete all written and project work. They should also encourage children to participate in co-curricular activities and school functions.

Parents must attend the Open House meetings to get an update on their child's academic progress and conduct. In case the parent is unable to attend the Open House, it must be communicated to the class teacher. Parents must collect the report card within that week. All communications sent from school should be acknowledged.

Parents/guardians are not allowed to enter the class rooms. They can meet teachers only after getting permission from the Principal.

Any change in address or telephone number must be intimated to the school.

The Management, Principal and Staff will not be held responsible in any way for mishaps, injuries or loss of life that may occur to the student either on the school campus or while being transported by the school buses.

vii)

EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION

Promotion is on the basis of a series of tests, examinations, assignments and project work.

Std. I to III: Worksheets, written and oral class tests and activities are taken into consideration for grading. Std. IV - During the 2nd & 3rd term, worksheets/tests will be conducted covering 2 or 3 chapters. Promotion will be based on the marks scored for the entire year.

Std. V to VIII: Three terminal tests and two mid term tests will be conducted. Promotion will be based on the marks scored for the above exams.

Std. IX to XI: Terminal examination and annual exam will be conducted. Promotion will be based on the marks scored in the above exams.

Std. XI students have to pass separately in theory and practicals.

No retest will be given for any examination.

viii)

FEE REGULATIONS

School fees must be paid regularly before the 10th of every month. Defaulters will have to pay a fine of Rs. 5 up to the 20th of each month and a fine of Rs. 10 up to the 30th of each month.

Fees must be paid for the period during which the pupil's name is on the rolls. If the fees are not paid for two consecutive months, the name of the student will be removed from the rolls.

Fee payment through internet: The payment of school fees can be made through internet. Those who desire to remit the school fees through the internet may approach any branch of Federal Bank for the opening form and Fednet application forms.

Fee receipts must be retained and produced as proof of payment, if needed.

All school dues must be cleared before a student is permitted to sit for the final examination.

ix)

Hostel accommodation

Seats are available for boys of Std. V to X at the Rajagiri Boarding House.

Boys admitted there must strictly follow all the rules and regulations of the Boarding House.
